Howard Stern called, he’d like his public decency back. I’m not even kidding, but I am kind of gobsmacked at the hubris and hypocrisy. For those who don’t know, Howard Stern is well known for his decades long complete lack of public decency. Apparently the man is currently pearl clutching over the heterosexual behavior of Rep. Lauren Boebert while on a date.
Speaking of pearl clutchers, Pastor Wilson also wrote about, “Sexual Shenanigans in High Places.” I don’t wish to be unkind or judgy here, I’m just saying the good pastor wrote a novel called “Ride, Sally Ride” about sex robots, for crying out loud. That book offended me deeply, not because it has (gasp) sex in it, but because it unwittingly revealed that some men aren’t even aware that breathing women have actual souls. I now have the urge to invest in AI and sex robots to hurry this process along so these men can just have their Stepford Wives fantasy and leave the real woman in peace.
Also, Russell Brand is in some kind of sexual history mess, either a targeted attack by the media and powers that be or else his lurid past coming back to haunt him. I have no idea, but I do know that you can now publicly vote on the matter, since the court of public opinion is obviously a highly moral and reliable way of discerning the truth.
Apparently Cardi B has also gotten into the game by recently disclosing or defending that she once had to make a living so she would just drug and rob men because you know, she could. Also, they all consented or something. Psychopaths R us, and narcissists too, apparently.
My town’s mayor is currently being called out for being well, a product of his modern environment I suppose. He says some pretty vile things publicly in what can only be described as having a complete lack of public decency and zero professionalism. One faithful soul collected all the mayor’s tweets and comments and insisted they be read into the city council’s public record. His point is like, hey, this is not behavior befitting an elected public official. He is quite right of course and I appreciate the effort, it is just that public decency died a long time ago.
Ai yi yi. Regardless of all this pop culture nonsense, I am so incredibly bored with the weird, perverse American cultural perception of sex. It’s this really twisted distortion of Puritan values super imposed over triple X pornography 24/7. It’s a convoluted mess of extreme sexual repression, shame, and a desire to be caught in the act, watched, and punished for it. Let me tell you, Victorian England and Nazi Germany had nothing on America’s modern perverse and distorted sexual dysfunction.
And by “bored,” I mean disgusted, frustrated, sad, powerless, and just plain tired. I’m tired mostly of people attacking one another, playing cancel culture, applying litmus tests, shaming sexual behavior, and acting as if we are all righteous and therefore worthy of disqualifying all the alleged undesirables. I miss the days when we valued privacy.

I remember the press used to ask of high ranking officials ( as if the question had merit) ‘boxers or briefs?’
After some squirming and stupid arguments either way, there was invariably an answer. Beep. Wrong reply.
A smart man, a wise man would say nothing. Allow the blank stare and awkward silence to compel the questioner to seethe in ignorance.
But politicians are not wise, they think immediate answers are smart. How about ‘none of your da@n business if you answer at all. But silence is better in the face of attempted coups of privacy.
Stern? A vile person.

Indeed, Stern is pretty vile. He is also 70 now and has been broadcasting for some 40 years! It makes me crazy when people complain, “what is the world coming to,” as if these things have just fallen out of the sky last week. We’ve been slowly dismantling “public decency” for a good half century now.

Exactly, these are all bread and circuses, diversions from what is really important. On the other hand, the general public kind of asks for it or demands it.

Well, does not “privacy” imply there’s secrets somewhere that the public has a right to know about.. well, anyone in public life, from common celebrities to elected leaders, to those that serve and protect us? We need to have “sexual preference tests” to know what our public figures like to do behind closed doors or out in public… with whom, and the frequency all this occurs We need to know their kinks, quirks, turn-ons, turn-offs, and all the stuff in between. This gives the rest of us the right to pass judgement by comparing to ourselves, determine the appropriateness of our affording envy, desire, aspiration, or condescension.
When entering the exciting career of (mindless) security guard work because my age requires the extra income, I was issued handcuffs. I requested the furry pair, if possible. My #MeToo case comes up next week.
I recall actress Marlene Dietrich said it best… “In America, sex is an obsession, in other parts of the world it’s a fact.”

This world is not our home. We are not supposed to be conformed to this world, much less are we supposed to love it. We do not want to stash our treasure here, because, as Jesus said, where our treasure is, there will our heart be also.
We’re in this world, but not of it.
God is not laughing at His elect, but, as it is written, He is laughing at the wicked. And God says so also
will His righteous laugh with Him.
Psalm 52
Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.
2 Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
3 Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.
5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.
6 The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:
Romans 8:
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

There is something quite disturbing about any individual who delights in quoting teams of bible text as a means to reprimand or denigrate.
An image of someone beating their fist against a bible while frothing at the mouth comes to mind.
Very unpleasant.

True, but then He wants us to see things from His perspective. This is is why it is written
“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might display the surpassing riches of His grace, demonstrated by His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.” Eph 2 v.6 -7
And in any event He comes down to earth and lives it with us. He came in Jesus for that purpose.

Brand appears to be Kavanaughed (new word?) . I find it very curious that the delay in reporting sexual assualt seems commensurate to how dangerous someone is to the left. If he is guilty, by all means he should reap the the consequence. But, I feel that #meetoo is over. They have been as silent about Tara Reade as NOW was about the myriad of Bill Clinton escapades. It appears that ALL women are not to be believed, only certain ones.

There really ought to be some kind of statute of limitations, Rob. These allegations from 5-10-15 years ago should have been reported and if they weren’t, well, I’m sorry but the legal timeline has now expired.
Also, Brand could be the most horrid person in the world, not saying he is or isn’t, but there still shouldn’t be a positive social credit score required in order to write books, make videos, or do a podcast. It’s kind of like, we’ve banned him from you tube, kicked him off of facebook, and shut off his water and electricity. Okay, but the guy hasn’t even been legally charged with a crime yet.

Look what they did in NY. They changed the law and extended the statute of limitations so that Trump could be accused of sexual assault. Then, they changed it back to its previous state. The more you watch the behavior of democratic politicians, you see that they truly are the danger to democracy.

I’m reminded of the Cohen Brothers movie “Hail, Caeser!” It’s about a fixer who goes around covering up all of the bad things that celebrities do. There may have been a time when we didn’t have a celebrity congress, or they just had really good fixers. Either way, Lauren Boebert feels very much like an old time celebrity, and she needs a better fixer.

I fully sympathize. This culture really is a sleazy, disgusting collection of voyeurs and moral reprobates. All of the fake puritanism and sexual repression only applies to people who aren’t filming themselves on social media getting it on in a gutter like dogs; or flaunting their perversions in front of kids and calling it ‘pride.’
I don’t know what to say about it either. The ‘personal is political’ to these idiots, and that includes sex. Normal sex is private, and to these people anything private must have a sinister purpose. Everything else they think should be plastered all over the Internet for strangers to voice their approval or disapproval. The State sticks its nose in where it doesn’t belong in these matters too, schools and businesses act like they can micromanage what’s ‘appropriate’ or not. The boobs just go along with it and even support it, so what can one say anymore?

I think this is all something about post-Christian America? Is it not pointless to expect people to live up to values they refuse to recognize as valid?
We are in the situation of the Apostle Paul. Before he expected people to behave with sexual purity, he converted them to Christ. Then he shamed them when they failed to behave properly. And, yes, he did shame them because then they knew better.
