First let me say Jon Gabriel is kind of adorable, so while I may be complaining here, I am not mad at him, not playing cancel culture, not shrieking “traitor” or “racist” from the Black Lives Matter Plaza. I am not hoisting the rainbow flag high above the cross at church nor am I asking anyone to sign an intersectionality inclusiveness agreement in order to attend. I haven’t set any buildings on fire nor shut down any businesses. I’m not demanding anyone get woke and study critical race theory or risk losing their jobs, nor do I need to see the Bible edited for gender inclusiveness.

I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Jon, where in the world have you been? Why not the slightest fuss as our faith has been politicized, weakened, and rendered so impotent for decades, it really serves no useful purpose anymore? Like, go ahead, just close the church down for 8-14 months, “it’s better to be six feet apart, than six feet under,” right?

It’s like we’re cheerfully singing, “oh death where is your sting,” out of one side of our neck while screaming in a panic out the other side, “Oh my God, we’re all going to die!” THAT is why church attendance has declined, why our faith has no teeth anymore, why people think we’re just hypocrites. I learned long ago that one thing I can always count on the church to do, is to drop the ball and leave people hanging out to dry.

So Jon writes, “God help us: We’re losing our religion and filling the void with politics,” and truer words where never spoken but of course the “void” we are allegedly filling is entirely right wing and Trump centric. Also, totally weird. Like, all charismatic and stuff. Shofars and what not. Kind of scary, really. Dear Lord, please protect us from the scary, “weird” cultian Christians who act like they actually believe this stuff!

Also, given what’s been passing as “religion” lately, losing “it” would be the best thing ever. The very thought has just put an extra pitty pat in my heart.

I also just love, love how we’re all walking around with our BDSM muzzle on anxiously waiting to line up and let our alien lizard overlords inject us with some unprecedented new nanobot technology, all while virtue signaling our vast moral superiority all under the false guise of “Christian love,” but Jon’s biggest concern seems to be the grave dangers of some kind of weird, cultian revival thingy breaking out?

But hey, at least our hoarding six cases of toilet paper and our mask of compliance is based entirely on reason and scientific materialism. Respect the science, man. Whew, thank goodness Christians aren’t currently unmoored from tradition, humility and grace? Thank goodness we aren’t being all weird already with our 23 genders, our pro-choice pastors, and our CRT’s?

Flat out, many, many, “people aren’t getting meaning from their local religious community,” and haven’t for decades. That’s because their local religious community has already been totally converged by politics and I’m not talking about far right, Trumpian politics either! Our churchian faith has really become toothless, weak, devoid of power, and converged.

If election fraud occurred and Trump actually won, which I believe happened, than Christians need to stand up for the integrity of our elections. But if I am just cray-cray and Joe Biden won, than Christians need to stand up because we just put an agenda that is against everything we claim to believe in, into political office. There is no safe place in the election equation in which to rest on our laurels declaring victory. Either our election was stolen or our Christian values and integrity were. Pretty sure that erosion has been going on for decades and is now at the crisis point too, but regardless of the root cause of our issues, we really do need some crazy people out dancing in the streets and blowing a shofar.

If politics are the flashpoint that brings us to revival than so be it. In fact, what a blessing! What we have going on right now is a kind of a death warmed over, lukewarm, people favor seeking bunch of nonsense disguised as churchianity. But hey, at least it doesn’t scare anybody or make them feel uncomfortable….
