This was really wonderful. Made me laugh, too!  You should read it over at “Proof of Your Faith,”  “Stop Making Excuses for Your Behavior!”

We are all without excuse, but excuses run rampant and they can feel quite logical. I’ve written before about reading the ten commandments as a kid and saying “well, scratch that!” Either I was an exception, an exclusion, and didn’t fit, or else God didn’t see me and my circumstances, which meant He either didn’t care or He was incompetent.

I mean, perish the thought, but I did actually once have those doubts and fears. Something as simple as “honor your parents” can seem impossible if your parents aren’t even trying to be honorable. Don’t steal, well what if you’re hungry? Don’t lie is easy…..unless lying is about protecting someone else and telling the truth can have dire consequences.

There really are no excuses and God doesn’t make any mistakes, He doesn’t put us in circumstances where we “have to” sin. The world however, can be a complicated and confusing place, and we ourselves can become lost, not even see a way out. There is always a way out.

I think he hit on something important here, “Let us bring stability back to a world gone mad. Let us shine the light of God’s love into a dark world. Our behavior, is the proof of our faith in Christ Jesus.”
