There are a bajillion things I’d really like to write about, but the noise, the chattering class, and the general spirit of anxiety hovering about us is just too much right now.

All this noise is drowning out my thoughts and I can hardly get a word in edgewise amidst all the shrieking.

Tuesday approaches, election day, and we’ve turned up the heat, exponentially. I refuse to play that game, seriously. What game? The anxiety game. The excitement game. The drama game.

Our faith actually requires some stillness, some peace, some quiet. I mean you can have great faith in the midst of chaos, in the midst of battle, even! I’m just saying, unless you are a teen ager, trying to study His word, trying to hear the Lord, with the music blaring in the background, is not so easy.

I love how the Lord says “Be still and know that I am.” If you’ve ever been a parent you probably get that. There are often lots of, “settle down, be quiet, be still” going on. “I can’t read you this story if you don’t stop talking.

All will be well, things will settle down. I’m just saying, yes, I hear all the noise.
