Yep.
I really appreciated this article in Christianity Today,
A Top Reason for Church Shootings: Domestic Abuse
“Year after year, domestic abuse spillover—when a fight at home comes to church—is one of the three most common killers at faith-based organizations.”
Yep. Year after year.
I get so frustrated, year after year, decade after decade, and it’s like no one ever wants to address it. Well, women just lie about abuse. Well, our church doesn’t have a problem. And than another incident happens and another and it’s like, I don’t know what the world is coming to, this is just a sign of the times, a sign of religious persecution.
No. It is not. This is predictable. This is preventable. This what happens when people put their head in the sand and refuse to address domestic violence and toxic masculinity in our culture because nobody wants to feel uncomfortable, nobody wants to take responsibility, nobody wants to make decent men feel bad, and nobody wants to assign blame.

Sorry Zande, today I’m just not in the mood for a gun debate with the Atheists-Who-Hate-America-Brigade.

Beautiful ib, very nice; another fine example of ‘while all things may be lawful, they may not be expedient…..’
Because we CAN post something, does not mean we SHOULD…..
You no doubt preserved a good post here by not allowing a thousand comment hi-jack into the wasteland of mental irrelevance..

“Hating America” is wishing you guys wouldn’t kill yourselves so needlessly every day of every week of every year?
That’s an interesting spin on it.

Agree. We as a church have a big problem, and we need to get to the root of it to fix it.
Unfortunately, getting to the root of it means digging up patriarchal systems that help perpetuate the abuse in the first place, and replacing them with actual true equality.
I’m sure there are many Christians out there who shudder at the very thought of it all. Men and women being equal in the church? The horror 🙄

I hear you. I’m all for patriarchal systems, but women have to have worth and value within them. I’m finding many people who seem to be all confused about that, who clearly demonstrate that they believe women have less value than men,or worse they act as if abuse is justified.

Thalea,
You’re analysis is unfounded and unbiblical. The root problem is sin. The root American problem is feminism and men who don’t know how to be biblical men. Domestic violence is not just about the abuse of one person towards another – it is the breakdown of the Biblical marriage as God designed – it is about two unequally yoked/unrepentant, entitled individuals raising neglected, abandoned, abused children to rise up and be violent bullies in their schools and then violent thugs in our streets.
It is about man’s depravity, sin, and desperate need for repentance not being preached from the pulpit. It is about men and women without the fear of God in their hearts and on their minds and not knowing that we serve a God who has more attributes than the love for HIS children – and that includes His HATRED of evil and evil people.
That this God is is a God of wrath and justice and He demands complete and total obedience to His word or the penalty is Hell – a place of eternal suffering, torture, and brutal suffering.
People who do not have fear and reverence for God – have no fear. We have done that. We have removed all consequences of any and all behavior preaching this doctrine of free grace for all – naming him the god of love – which is nothing more than and idol created by man, destined for hell, and enabling hell on earth.

Whoops, I wrote my reply in the wrong place. I was saying that it seems our views are quite different, and that’s ok. I will agree to disagree with you 🙂

But I would also add there is more to the situation than “toxic masculinity”. I see plenty of toxic parenting from both genders where I spend a large chunk of my day, five days a week. And then also, we need to be very careful about laying blame at the feet of all parents of kids who make bad decisions. Of course, I know you probably agree with this. I echo your frustration. Our school’s and post office’s flags are at half-mast today….again. It’s becoming a common site.

Yep, Dawn. It’s complicated because “toxic masculinity” isn’t necessarily about men at all. We can blame Hollywood and their stereotypes, the movies that have shaped our culture, the decline of the family, moms who are raising boys without dads or male role models, our lack of mental health services, and the way the secular system often drops the ball in domestic violence cases. All these things contribute to the problem.

IB don’t sweat it, the atheists who hate America Brigade is busy rampaging around any blog that has addressed this issue. There is no time for compassion, you know, because God and Americans suck. They got double the pay off here, in that there are dead American Christians.
Do I sound in a pugnacious mood? I hope so.
And as long as I am being thuggish do you wan’t to hear how I deal with men I know who smack their wives around? I suggest strongly that their fate will be likewise if they keep it up.
Rants done, good night.

we can not stop it because it must happen at the end of this age, the Bible has already written and prophesied that there will be more difficult and dangerous times. we can only pray to God to continue to be given the power of His Spirit to be able to face it and to endure to the end…

We cannot stop it – Evil is everywhere. But that doesn’t mean we have to lay down and play dead either! This “god” of love fantasy needs to end NOW. The Bible gives clear and distinct rules for dealing with this evil in our midst – and we have done NOTHING!!!
Twisting Scripture to meet the agenda of complacency is no excuse and the church (the whole church and nothing but the church) will be held accountable!
Doing nothing means their blood is on our hands.

Sorry Ashley, We been tricked. The reasons “The Church” is worshiping falsehood is intentional. The same degenerates that crucified our Savior also murdered the disciples and all true believers that they could find.
Then they took YHVHs’ Name out of the bible translated it for “LORD” and “God” Which are pagan false gods meaning Baal and Lucky. They Did the same with the name of His Son YHSH, they turned his name into jesus, lord and god. You see, the reason the church has little power is because they were never even told us His name.
Matthew was not written by Matthew alone but by the disciples. It’s the only Gospel written in Hebrew. Don’t believe me? Many accounts supposedly written by Mathew, were written before Matthew was called. How did he know what happened if he was collecting taxes.
We have no evidence that suggests that Our Savior and The Father ever spoke greek. I don’t believe he ever spoke did. You see the greek language is polluted with names of false “gods”. In order to say the word heaven, they say “oronan”. Oronan is a false deity. So in order to say “The kingdom of heaven”, in greek. They say is the kingdom of oronan. YHSH would never call His Fathers’ Kingdom, the kingdom of oronan. It’s blasphemy. Like all the Christians that call on lord and god. The poor souls don’t even know and the romans, pharasies and pagans are trying to stop me.
If I helped you maybe you could help me.
