I kind of enjoy the Passion Translation of the Bible. If you want my unsolicited advice, you should read all translations because they often highlight things in a way you may not have seen them before, but the really important thing is to just let the Author and Finisher of your faith read it to you.
He will bring you the exact words you need.
I’m feeling a bit frazzled and out of sorts because the world around me has gone quite cray-cray. Everything I try to do right now just feels like trying to walk in waste high wet cement. Don’t even get me started about local politics. Ai yi yi! That is just one big steaming pile of bovine poopies, as usual.
I’m often compelled to try to make things better when life goes awry. Let’s focus on something positive. Let’s see how we can serve in this situation. Let’s try to make it better. The hardest thing in the world for me is to just let go, stand back, and let things fall and crash as they may. Arrggg, just maddening for me, but often that’s what really needs to happen.
The Lord is forever reminding me, you have only one job! Just luxuriate in my lavish love. It’s kind of amusing, but people tend to get a bit concerned when I say that. I don’t know what to say, welcome to the somewhat uncomfortable and disconcerting reality of unmerited favor? It just is what it is. You can’t earn it and you don’t deserve it.
You have ONE job.
If you don’t like TPT, the word is “abide.” Rest in the Lord and abide in His love. His love is definitely lavish!
“Lavish” is a cool word because it is both an adjective and a verb. So “lavish” means sumptuous, rich, luxurious, and regal, but it also means “to bestow.” God’s love for us is abundant, rich, and not miserly at all! In fact, I sometimes pray for just a tiny drop because I’m afraid He might unleash a tsunami on me and I will get knocked down in the waves.
If you’re going to indulge in fear, that’s a good one to entertain. Be mildly concerned about being completely overwhelmed by His goodness.
Now cling to it fiercely because life is a bit rough and some of the roads aren’t going to be paved.
