No, not the late night talk show host, and not Jack Nicholson jumping out of the bushes in “The Shining,” but Johnny Cash singing some good music……
I was just pondering the nature of worship music, of progress, of the tension between tradition and change. Sometimes I’m in a Johnny Cash mood and sometimes I just need to hear this version……
Ha! I don’t have much to say at the moment, and perhaps that’s really a good thing, so just enjoy the Lord’s day and immerse yourself in some good swampy gospel music bearing the good news…..
Good stuff! Next time the devil reminds you of your shameful past, remind him of your guaranteed future.

She is Molly Skaggs, Ricky Skaggs’ daughter. He is the famous bluegrass, gospel, country music guy from Kentucky.

I am an old time Johnny Cash fan, love his music, and his voice.
But ya know, that there young Molly Skaggs gal does a right decent job o singing that too. Whew. That is a long version, I love i love it too. How can a person sing at fullness so long; how can those dancers keep on dancing and singing, and the crowd.
I have to sit here and catch me breath just watching them young folk. Oh, maybe that us the difference, they are young, and I am not so anymore. 😀

I “discovered” the Bethel version of “Ain’t No Grave” a few days ago and have been playing it practically nonstop. I will definitely request it to be played at my “celebration of life.” (We’ll put the “fun” in “funeral.)
