Stephanie Parker McKean wrote a wonderful post called, “It’s Not the Bombs.” Check it out, it is worth reading and sharing!

I didn’t go to school much as a child, but I do remember the drills and crawling under our desks, as if that would somehow “protect”  you from a nuclear bomb. Russians were perceived as the biggest threat back in the day. Ha! Well perhaps the more things change the more they stay the same?  Russians seem to once again dominate the media narrative.

As a child though, I wish I’d had someone to teach me what the real issues were, the potential threats that could lay waste to the lives of so many of those around me, and by proxy leave me living in the fallout zone.
