I been watching the social media melt down, the allegations of racism, the harsh words for these boys, and the insane response calling for them to be doxed, harassed, and persecuted. The internet can be an ugly place, perhaps because it reveals the truth of human nature, our tendency to rush to judgement, condemnation, and vigilante justice.
It so ain’t pretty. Especially horrendous to me, so-called sensible people posting things like “red MAGA hats are the face of terrorism” and assorted other things justifying the complete destruction, including death threats towards these boys, children. Minors on school busses with chaperones for crying our loud.
And I knew too that if we waited long enough the truth would come out. The TRUTH that tells the WHOLE STORY and not the Mediated Reality media mongers want to use to deceive people, to create a false narrative, and to promote division and instability in our country.
So these boys were subjected to tirades, slurs about their sexuality, threats that there will be blood long before that Native American veteran came on the scene. For a bunch of young teen age boys, they actually held up admirably. There is no aggression, no fighting back, nothing but a few smirks and a few school cheers. These boys were actually harassed, intimidated and pressured, BY ADULTS, and still they responded with calm, they attempted to descalate the situation.
You can watch the whole video, but it’s long. Here’s a brief index,
1:06:45 threatening an innocent bystander with violence
1:07:40 calls the kids “incest babies”
1:15:20 calls the kids “future school shooters”
1:24:53 is booed when he lets loose with homophobic slurs
1:27:00 “there will be no peace until there is bloodshed”
It’s worse than that. I heard child of sodomy, dozens of homophobic slurs, accusations of pedophilia, etc, etc.
“This behavior is opposed to the Church’s teachings on the dignity and respect of the human person,” Covington Catholic High School and the Diocese of Covington said in a joint statement. “The matter is being investigated and we will take appropriate action, up to and including expulsion.”
So let me to speak to Covington Catholic High School and the Diocese. Learn to stand with your sheep who are often to be found standing against the world. Find your own intestinal fortitude, ye soggy milksops, and don’t be so easily swayed by the whims of the media.

I am sorry to say that there are still people who are saying that the young men are at fault, that the claims of another group are a lie to protect the white men. 😦
People will see what they want to see. They think all young men are evil, or that all Trump supporters are vile, then those people will not see or hear the truth.

It’s really incredible how some people will refuse to see the truth even in light of some pretty clear evidence and facts. Even the mainstream news is now trying to back track on this fake story.

A friend, determined to find the silver lining, pointed out that at least the incident forced the lamestream media to admit that there had been a March for Life (since that was the event that had brought the offending Catholic boys to DC in the first place). 😀

Lesson One: You have a cause and wish to protest/demonstrate in favor of it make sure your visuals are in order to play the media.. not end up defending yourself to it.
Lesson Two: No matter what your cause someone will be against it so expect opposition and prepare for the media to watch it.
Lesson Three: What IB just said.

Amen IB— having taught high school for like forever, I applaud these boys for trying to be the adults in a sea of idiocy.
The full truth and nothing more— no innuendos, no picking and choosing only certain berries to suit other’s agendas— this is a snapshot of what we’ve become in this land of the free and home of the brave — their own school was ready to hang them out to dry before learning the full facts — I’ve seen that in public education so many times I can’t count but for a Christian school to do so so quickly is appalling — anything to appease the masses of the hysterical— I’m waiting to write about this but need to calm down first – thank you for doing so and doing it so well!!!

There’s a video of this kid right before the capture of him standing before the drummer, where he actually turns around and signals the people behind him to tone it down and be respectful of the drumming. Behind him is this guy who has engaged a couple of the boys about how they need to leave America. And they all stopped too, they all turned to look at this drummer.
It’s kind of heart breaking clip too, because actually it shows some respect, some reverence for what might be perceived as sacred, for this older man with his drum and his chanting. Heart breaking because the media never showed that part and it really reveals that what was in these boys hearts was not about mockery at all, it’s actually evidence of some values, of holding an ideal.

LOL! Well, I did bump into one! Kind of a lefty, hollering about these boys the other day on FB. Finally he goes, wait a minute, this isn’t journalism, this is just really reactionary and unsourced hysteria. I’m going to just shut up about this for a few days and let the truth come out.
He and I are never going to agree on much of anything but I was really proud of him. I wanted to point and stare and go,” look people, a sane person! How weird! Where did he even come from? 🙂

This is a very sad story of the dishonesty of some news media / others jumping to conclusions that aren’t supported by the facts. The despicable acts of those terrorizing these Catholic boys is horrible.
Thanks for speaking the truth.

As far as I can tell, there are basically three parties to this event. A small group of five or so Black Hebrew Israelites, Nathan Phillips group and the Covington pupils. I have only skimmed through the video, it looks like there is the rally by indigenous people, which the BHI verbally attack, calling them niggers and “uncle TOMahawks”, amongst others. As you can see around the 0:17:00 to 0:20:00 time mark, the Covington pupils have not arrived yet, the whole upper stairs area of the Lincoln Memorial is basically empty. There follows a heated exchange between some indians and the BHI and later the BHI go on to verbally harrass a hoverboard driver cruising around them repeatedly. Only at about the 55 minutes time mark do the pupils arrive on the upper stairs. They seem to be drawn in as onlookers by the spectacle that BHI deliver, while keeping their distance. BHI rises to the opportunity and verbally lashes out at the new arrivals. By the time we come to the time marks listed by IB, the pupils have taken to responding to BHI by jeering, chanting, and in one case rolling a water bottle at the BHI crowd. And they draw closer. Nothing compared to the aggression by the BHI, but not deescalating either. It is then, that Nathan Philips comes from the indian’s congregation area, walks around the BHI and between the two camps, turning to the Lincoln Memorial. Just 20 yards to the right, he could have walked up the stairs freely; now he is facing the pupils, who come faster at him than he comes at them. All the time, the BHI have nothing better to do than to verbally harass both other parties.
That’s the point where most short videos set in. What I see, is Nathan Philips trying to walk his way through a crowd that he could have avoided, while the pupils are having their fun mocking him, just as they mocked the BHI after being provoked by the BHI. I am not surprised to see this kind of mob dynamics, where the target of mockery can quickly change.
Nathan Philips chose to take a wrong turn, and was met with unwarrented mockery. Keep in mind, all the slurs, insults and threats, that IB lists, were dished out by the BHI, and the pupils chose to mock Philips in “retaliation”. Instead, they could have simply walked away and ignored the BHI spectacle in the first place. What I find curious about the whole incidence: where were the teachers?

For those that don’t follow Citizen Tom’s blog.. the following was my reply to him on this subject….
“The Covington Boys story.. in it’s rebutted version and presented by the students, has been re-played on CNN at least once an hour for the last day and a half (and on their site for at least 24 hours). So, here’s the thing, after seeing the commentary by the students (and “Nick”, the one doing the staring down of the native American).. and listening to the CNN sourced audio of the other group(s) represented doing the taunting of the students… this has all come out to appear as being a very complicated display of fragmented crowd dynamics, very likely spawned by tauntings of the “Hebrew Israelites group. CNN did their job.. but more to the point… I used critical thinking skills (some might call it common sense) to determine for myself the accuracy of the reporting.
1. The students provided their explanation of events well after the mainstream media was reporting them as being the “villains” toward the native American fellow. Questions: Could it be the students, “Nick”, got scared at the “bad” media presentation and tried to distance himself from something he made a poor decision to do? Could it be that “Nick” and his classmates were legitimately explaining their role accurately?
Supporting Visual: The students were wearing MAGA hats.. visually suggesting/questioning a racial component? In fact.. in a time where people in general are toning down their political affiliations in public for fear of stimulating some nutcase retribution, a) why the hell were students wearing MAGA hats in public at all.. at the Lincoln Memorial of all places.. and b) what educators/chaperones allowed the students to wear such potentially dangerous icons in public?
Lesson for the Students: Free speech is wonderful but it does NOT serve to insulate you from public opinion that could prove harmful.. and students are NOT old enough to make that value judgement to wear such political signage without their parents’ permission.
2. My Assessment of the Entire Event: Anyone wearing/displaying their cause and/or political affiliation is asking for trouble… and given the three “groups” represented there that day at the same time (the MAGA students, the sign carrying “blacks for Hebrews” or whatever, and a native American drawing attention to his ethnic status with his garb and drum beating) all of them well within their free speech rights to be there, could have very well erupted into some perfect storm confrontation with injuries. At the end of the day everyone went home unscathed.. the students hopefully learned a number of lessons… the parents/chaperones of those students getting chastised for placing their “protectees” nearly in harm’s way… and the blacks-for-Hebrew whatever bunch, they live to wave signs another day.
The event was not as it seemed.. but all parties had a role in getting it close to what it seemed.
In my opinion.. media coverage did their jobs… at least CNN did. And I used my own common sense.”

This happened after the March for Life which is significant. The demonic forces right now are scared silly for the first time in over 40 years that murder will no longer be tolerated by a “free” society and so they are looking into every and any reason to cripple or weaken the pro-life movement. It’s not about those boys so much as it is about the future of the toleration of murder. These boys were considered a weaker target than some of the other marchers.

Support the Covington kids. I am hoping they come through this with the strength they have. Those students and the chaperones did exactly what they were supposed to do under that horrible situation that the native-garbed guy put them in. The school admin needs to apologize to the students and to the parents and to the chaperones, now, today and until the fake news is silenced. These students did NOTHING wrong.

You are correct. The students were minors in a growing potential confrontation partially as a result of parents/chaperones allowing them to wear the hats. You can argue all day long about the morality of it.. the right to free speech, yada yada and it being wrong for people.. even in tweets, to incite violence against the kids.. all absolutely wrong. BUT… these are minors.. and the chaperones should have understood that these are divisive times which previous demonstrations have shown… and a group of minors prancing around the Lincoln Memorial practicing their Constitutional right to free speech by wearing a political icon any kind could place them in danger. Adding to the hat icon.. there’s the image of Nick staring down Nathan, the NA drummer, and some of his fellow students doing the chopping thing. Again I ask.. where were the chaperones to control any of this?
