Ha! I loved this bit of satire from the Babylon Bee. Well done.
‘I Know God Forgives Me, But I Can’t Forgive Myself,’ Says Woman Whose Moral Compass Is More Developed Than God’s
Pride sure is a funny thing, isn’t it? It’s not always what it seems. It can cloak itself in shame, false humility, even virtue. I love what he did here, “her incredibly developed sense of morality which eclipses even God’s,” and her “ability to properly appropriate guilt and punishment supersedes even that of the Creator and Sustainer of the entire universe.”
That is exactly what we are doing every time we disagree with what God has said about us, every time we cling to bits of shame, every time we fail to forgive our own selves.

Great Meme! While reading the Article for which you provided a LINK, it occurred to me that her understanding of forgiveness is quite aligned with Roman Catholicism’ stressed need for penance.
Although I fully renounced Catholicism over 50 years ago, I was never-the-less raised and fully indoctrinated into its doctrines. They profess the forgiveness of Christ as a contingency: a conditional covenant that binds God to forgive, but based upon the sinners compliance with on act of penance (which is decided and declared by the priest to whom the sinner confesses).
It further occurred to me that the Article never mentioned whether or not the woman was influenced by Catholic dogma, That observation led to this thought: how many people completely ignorant to the proper understanding of Biblical teachings on forgiveness, acceptance, and grace new the loving embrace of The Savior, whose only physical arms today are true believers filled with His Spirit?

I’m a big Babylon Bee fan. The only problem is that many times people think the articles I repost on Facebook are actually real. Some people don’t understand, or appreciate, satire. That’s sad.

Wait….they aren’t real? 😉
He just cracks me up. I think it would be great fun to have a sarcastic pastor filled with nothing but satire and gallows humor. No doubt he could find away to offend absolutely everyone. 🙂

Her sense of morality eclipses even God’s? So sez the article. Hmmm.
I respectfully suggest that this is wishful thinking. Then again, perhaps the writer is onto something here, insofar as the world today has already put God in a box or under the thumb.
But God can never be outGod’d. 😉
