Can I just say msb for the benefit of others who may not know, that the prophets of old were distinct from New Testament prophets.
Their focus was FOREtelling, whereas the men of God since grace reigns today, FORTHtell.
A distinction worth considering. They told what was to come, were never wrong, the NT prophets speak the mind of God to what was, and in some cases, what is to come, as long as it matches the warp and woof of scripture. True, there are obvious things that prophets can speak to today as already recorded, such as the restoration of Israel, the mark of the beast, the dereliction of currency, and probably most important, point out the introduction of men who foam out their own shame and bring doctrines of devils
John Baptist was the greatest, and having done no miracle, we can gain tremendous insight into the nature, purpose, and work of such prophets. Above all, the Lord Jesus Christ is exulted, and has no competitor.
My two cents, but prophets accurately divide the word of truth, and show no partiality, and confirm God’s truth. This os only a sketch. 😉
It’s Sunday, not Friday…
But I thought this was precious. 🙂
Innocence is Priceless
One Sunday morning, the pastor noticed little Alex standing in the foyer of the church staring up at a large plaque. It was covered with names and small American flags mounted on either side of it.
The six-year old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the pastor walked up, stood beside the little boy, and said quietly, ‘Good morning Alex.’
‘Good morning Pastor,’ he replied, still focused on the plaque.
‘Pastor, what is this?’
The pastor said, ‘Well son, it’s a memorial to all the young men and women who died in the service.’
Soberly, they just stood together, staring at the large plaque.
Finally, little Alex’s voice, barely audible and trembling with fear asked, “Which service, the 8:30 or the 11:00?”

Yep, still different from an evangelist though. A gift worth unwrapping in its fullness. 😉
But your meme is spot on, as it gets to the root of truth.
