God bless America! We are such a hot mess, in desperate need of grace and redemption, but I sure do love us. All that defiance and triumph of the struggling human spirit. Democracy sure is messy, a hot mess.
All in good humor here, but those of you who are grieving today, try to remember that half this country is bitterly disappointed on election day…..for the other half, it just takes about six weeks longer.
I am grateful the election is over, I feared a tie, a contested election, and months of wrangling. I am not surprised by the results, but I am surprised by the enthusiasm and the turnout.
There will be a lot of armchair quarterbacking post-election, but I just want to speak to one thing today. The working class, rural, small town voters, used to be called the “salt of the earth.” Listening to the media last night was almost comical because of the cluelessness expressed. I felt all those little knives, the number of times they said,”uneducated,” “rural,” and “this sure isn’t the Starbucks crowd.” They were sneering and dripping condescension as if, “not college educated” explains everything.
To make matters worse, they interviewed voters and conducted exit polls, and people spoke plainly about a lack of jobs, about feeling as if the country had left them behind, and all the political pundits just insisted the economy was booming, jobs were plentiful, and President Obama had a high approval rating. That kind of thing is crazy making, it is evidence of a complete disconnect from the reality of people’s lives. Incomes have declined dramatically, the cost of goods has skyrocketed, unemployment is rampant, and people are really struggling.
When we call people racist, sexist, stupid, uneducated, rural, and cast them out of the cool kid’s club as if their voice doesn’t matter, well, we shouldn’t be surprised when they all come together and find new representatives.

Very well said! The obviously condescending attitude of the media of mass deception knows no bounds. They should all be ashamed of themselves!
God bless America! I am never ashamed to say that!

Agreed. I have learned enough in my short life to know that even when we get the candidate we think we want, there will inevitably disappointment down the road. Great post, as always!

no, not the tally hoers…they are the riders to get the fox…the fox on the other hand, now he may be about to be the slaughtered one—but I say “forward ho” as in we are now off to march forward into battle 🙂

Lol, good to know! I’ve never got to go on a Fox hunt. Might be fun, even if it’s just a metaphor.:-)

I like little foxes so the hunt aspect of their little lives is not on my plate but I do love that whole hunt imagery of days gone by…
When I was in college I worked at a Christian summer camp for girls in North Carolina–the director was a big horse person who loved riding and had a big focus on riding at the camp….he actually took a bunch of the kids on a fox hunt—but luckily the foxes were merely trailed by riders and never killed—just made nervous wrecks I suppose…I didn’t participate as I’ve never been a rider but the fact that folks were still doing such, a centuries old sport, was amazing….

That is pretty cool. We have a little dog and he was bred for Fox hunting, retrieving, so he can jump up and down off a horse and balance while you’re riding. So of course in the house, he’s on top of the bookshelf, the fridge. When you go for a ride in the car, he wants to balance on the back of the seat.:-)

We now know one thing for certain–the polls actually we’re RIGHT!!!
Nate Silver had a hunch Clinton would win the popular vote and that it would come down to the electoral college which would be crucial for our now President Elect.
And Trump carried the critical spots.
He’s our leader now by Divine Right so now our duty is to pray for President Elect Donald J. Trump.
I am still shocked I am saying that right now.

I suspect these “experts” would have a much different perspective if they were forced to leave their comfortable situation and lived in a rural area for a year and find their own job (not a temporary transfer). Since that is extremely unlikely, they could at least do some random checks with the “man on the street” in rural America, not Manhattan or Los Angeles.

You’re quite right, they could have just checked in with “the man on the street,” but they’ve been too busy just dismissing people as racist, accusing them of bad thought, and trying to silence them.

The most important thing that happened last night was that Republicans won both houses of Congress. A Democrat-controlled Congress would likely have pushed Trump further towards the extremist Alt-Right by obstructing his policies. The Republicans will be more likely to shape his policies in Traditionalist and Conservative directions.
The important thing now is not to let the Alt-Right extremists take control of the country’s direction.

Yes, amen. That must be tempered and spoken out against. The alt right is sprinkled with outright hatred and endless stupidity, and must be reigned in and disciplined.

For example, Vox Day had two articles up today: one said that ethnicity was a greater threat to our civilization than feminism; and another that stated: “This is just the beginning. It is now Whites vs, Non-Whites”. Some of these guys apparently hate minorities even more than they hate women.

Hatred of any sort is just not a Christian virtue. Whether we hate men, women, or minorities, we’re actually engaging in blasphemy because we’re contradicting the fact that people were made in God’s image. It’s one thing to disagree or be angry, but for any of us to hate an entire group of people is simply blasphemy and it’s not okay.
Of course, calling yourself the voice of God is not a good sign either.

I think it really shows that the Red Pill Cult has been motivated by hatred and the desire to sow dissension all along. Trump went out of his way to call for unity after a divisive election last night, and these act frightened that he might actually want that to happen.
Trump has a lot of flaws, but he’s a CEO by profession, and running a corporation depends a lot on teamwork. A Race War should be the last thing Trump needs or wants.

Without being too political, it was a masterstroke selecting Mike Pence and Kelli Ann Conway, true helpmeets and a force to be reckoned with.
Glad this chapter is over as you say ms bytes, but then again, there is a whole other book……… \o/

Very well said. Women-kind have just taken a step back, into the ice age, I fear. US citizens were so elated, when a man of mixed races was elected president. This very same man, ran women into the ground, got us further into debt, sent our young people to a war half way around the world, where they were and still are dying to save . . . whom? Now, women we need to fight the injustices that have just been laid upon us, because Americans were afraid to do worse and elect a woman into office. It makes me disgusted, that a man who spoke about women and different races as well, was chosen to lead this country even further into the ground. May God save us all.

I ‘feel’ you! I agree with your expressed observation – “I felt all those little knives, the number of times they said, “uneducated,” “rural,” and “this sure isn’t the Starbucks crowd.” They were sneering and dripping condescension as if, “not college educated” explains everything”. I am a college-grad-professional living in suburban Orange County California (A BIG BLUE STATE), but my political affiliation has lumped me into the dung-heap of ‘Deplorables”.
As a minister/theologian since the 70’s, I’ve been amazed at the world’s reluctance to accept God, especially when He demonstrates His continued participation in human affairs. The striking thing about true miracles (which ONLY God can perform) is their IMPOSSIBLE nature. Whenever any scenario presents a human victory that is the result of defying overwhelming odds – I grim because I see the hand of God in it.
I’m NOT referring to amazing catches on the football grid, or the breaking of some ‘insurmountable’ athletic record (although I am humored when an athlete raises a finger pointing upward after achieving such). No, I’m stipulating the universal confusion, the disbelief, and irritation that arise whenever the impossible is accomplished by an opponent.
“With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” – Mt. 19:26
Rather than comprehending that many people actually prayed for divine intervention, exasperation quickly turns to foolish denial, followed by the other 5 stages of grief. Even though both teams (or parties) shake hands at the end, proclaiming graciously to each other, “good game” – poor sports NEVER accept the results, even if the impossible factor reveals that God was ‘perhaps’ involved.
I think the squirrel pic is sooooo appropriate! Proof that we’re all squirrels is the childish reactions of opponents of the election results who now are acting exactly like what they have been accusing those who aren’t members of their little club (I’m sorry – Gigantic club). We can only HOPE that their rebellion will soon subside. In the meantime, I’ve gathered enough nuts for the winter (its 96 degrees here today), so I’ll continue enjoying the story of Joseph – I’m at the part where his brothers have come to him for supplies and are bowing to him. Peace!

Probably the reason political pundits think the economy is booming is because they never have to suffer when it isn’t. They get to keep their cushy jobs running their mouths every day with great salaries. I’m not necessarily happy that Trump won, but I am happy that the mainstream media finally got its just desserts. It’s official: the veil has been lifted, the media can no longer stake a claim on public opinion.

The vial maybe lifted, but there are still many who want the ‘resurrection’ message quenched. The media reporting of post-election America still slants widely left. The reports of protest far out-weigh the positive results. The stock market resurgence reached all-time highs. The response by world leaders support, NOT bemoan Trump’s election, but such reports are mere foot-notes rather than headlines. Of course, the new administration doesn’t take effect until January 2017, so status-quo is dying a slow death. CBS remains “Clinton Bull Sh**”, NBC continues to be “Nobody But Clinton” and ABC is “Anything But Commendation”. Only FOX seems ready to embrace reality.
