“……work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure….” -Philippians 2:12-13
All in good humor here, but that is the only kind of work out you’re going to get out of me right now.
One of my favorite things in the world is to get together with others and, “work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.” Fear and trembling here has a different connotation then just ordinary scary, it means reverence, like to be in awe of the glory of God. It’s a recognition of His power and authority, His miraculous nature and the way He can heal and transform our lives.
I love to hear how others have applied scripture in their own lives, in modern times, in ordinary and not so ordinary circumstances. One of my favorite questions is, “what has God been teaching you lately?” I also really like to hear testimonies, what amazing and miraculous things has God done for you? Long ago…..or just last week.
Faith is a living, breathing, moving thing, it’s now, in the present, in His presence.
Applied salvation, meaning, Jesus didn’t die just to get us into heaven, he died to get a little bit of heaven into us.
So humor me, brag in the Lord and share a reason for the hope that is within you.
