The whole idea around being complementary is to draw off of one anothers strengths and weaknesses, to complement each other. Complement means “a thing that completes or brings to perfection.” Rather than seeking competition, equality, or sameness, the apples and oranges learn how to play well together, to bring out the best in one another.
