Wow was the word I thought, too. Such wisdom from someone so young. God is working in and through that couple! May their marriage indeed be occasion for people to gossip about God’s faithfulness. Love the way he phrased that! ๐
Isn’t that fun? Reminds me of “let’s give them something to talk about.” May our lives and marriages be an occasion for people to gossip about God’s faithfulness, indeed. Sounds like a marvelous goal for single and married people alike. ๐
Beautiful portrayal by one who understands deeply the meaning of marriage.
Someone wrote this sometime ago that I kept because I liked it:
“Historically, brides were to be spotless/blameless before the altar. Only two entities of like mind can be joined together. So, if we are to be joined to Christ, then we must put selfishness aside. If you consider the commandments, then each address a specific area of selfishness.
Since mankind is not without sin, Christ made a sacrifice to atone for our actions of which we repent. This will allow Mr. Love & Mrs. Love to be joined together forever.
So the ‘rules’ are to prepare us for the next stage – becoming selfless.
Those who insist upon remaining selfish will be excluded from the wedding. Thus, the rules are not arbitrary.”
I agree too with your take, and the commenters. Some real good insight, and no notes! No script but a good heart.
Wishing them the best, and hope they remember this day when the trials and storms come that will prove their words.
And come they will! In the world ye WILL have tribulation……………..Ain’t that the truth…………..be we can be of good cheer……..for the One who overcame…………and the couple here is off and running with a firm foundation.
Here’s a toast to you also for a great 16 ms bytes.
Today I was reading Luke 4, when Jesus teaches in his hometown of Nazareth and they decide to try to throw Him off a cliff.;)
It wasn’t that that caught my eye however, it was His declaration, which included “…to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lordโs favor.โ
I never really saw that last part, but to “proclaim the year of the Lordโs favor,” what a timely New years Eve message to receive.
